Content should get rewarded for as long as users are willing to vote on it. This would create more long term value and remove “disposable” posts that require little effort
I never understood the reason for this either
The Reward Pool would continuosly shrink maybe even exponential without 7 day Reward cap.
Curation is also getting very difficult.
I disagree with the anonymous dude. Why would it drain the reward pool? I’m open to hearing your explanation, but with the understanding of the system that I have at this moment I would say that’s not accurate at all. How would it take away from others’ profit? I can’t imagine a scenario in which it would.
What we could do is keep the 7 day payout but every 7 days the upvote total gets distributed and the ability to upvote resets, except all previous upvoters remain recorded as having upvoted already so that we don’t get upvote duplication.
Well even if you allowed double voting after the 7 day payout it still shouldnt break anything because each user has a limited stake. So if you only wanted to vote on one post over and over, you should be able to do that without causing much of an issue. People would abuse it by having a “self vote post” but it’s really no different than what people do now it would just be one post instead of new posts everyday.
I’m too for an unlimited voting cap. Payout is to be happen every 7 days from the beginning of the post. This is absolutely necessary as people can be rewarded for posts they made 3 months ago too. Of course everyone can only vote once on a post.
